The Japanese Akita Inu excels as a family companion in the right environment and with the right education. Versatile and extremely loyal to their immediate family whilst remaining aloof with other humans and animals. Temperament is extremely important for this breed to enjoy a family life as is the task of delivering appropriate education and management by the humans it is expected to interact with.
